Effecto Group acquires the German PTM
EFFECTO GROUP: ITALIAN-US BUSINESS GROWS WITH THE ACQUISITION OF GERMAN PTM
Effecto Group, a leading manufacturer of automation and robotics components, continues to expand with the acquisition of 100% of the German company PTM Präzisionstechnik.
PTM, headquartered in Gröbenzell near Munich, has a turnover of €5 million and its production focuses primarily on robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT). The company supplies robotic tool changers and collision sensors, widely used for body-in-white operations, particularly in the automotive industry, where PTM serves all major German manufacturers. It also supplies conveyor equipment used in various automation sectors, for any product packaging or assembly.

Continuous expansion is in the company’s DNA. In 2016, the Italian company Tecnomors Spa, a leader in automation and robotics components since 1967, completed its project by acquiring 100% of the shares of the US company Applied Robotics Inc. (Glenville, NY – USA), which has specialized in robotics components since 1983. This gave birth to Effecto Group, which, thanks to significant investments, has continuously expanded its product offering at its two production sites in Glenville, NY and San Maurizio d’Opaglio (Novara). In 2021, Effecto Group established a company in Bavaria, Germany, to establish a stable presence in Europe’s largest automation market and consolidate its sales organization for German customers. These are the premises that led to the finalization of the acquisition of PTM.
Effecto Group makes innovation its daily business, responding to the needs of the increasing automation of industrial production processes across all sectors, from automotive to medical, from food to cosmetics. By integrating the expertise consolidated over decades by the two companies, Effecto Group combines Tecnomors’ expertise in the construction of grippers, vices, linear and rotary actuators, robot wrist systems, automation and robotics components, and the construction of general machine tool tending equipment with Applied Robotics’ experience in the production of tool change systems, collision monitoring systems, and special grippers, with systems specifically designed to increase speed, flexibility, and efficiency.
